On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Shenandoah University's McCormick Civil War Institute will host its annual spring conference--"Quenching the Embers": Victory, Defeat, and Challenges After Appomattox. The conference will feature presentations by nationally recognized historians Jeffrey Boutwell, William C. "Jack" Davis, Caroline Janney, and Jonathan A. Noyalas.
The registration fee covers the cost of all presentations, refreshments, and lunch.
Refund: Individuals who register, but need to cancel may do so and receive a full refund as long as the cancellation and refund request is made prior to 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, April 6, 2026. No refunds will be given after that date.
