Location: Lake Drummond, Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge
Filled with history and folklore the Great Dismal Swamp was once home to Native Americans and African Americans fleeing slavery. We will canoe the canal to a remote island where we will camp and then paddle to Lake Drummond. Bring money for lunch on the way back to campus on Sunday. Leave campus at 8:30 am on Saturday and return by 3:30 pm on Sunday. Included in the fee: transportation, 3 meals, canoe usage, camp equipment.

Once you register for your trip, you will receive an email from SOAR within 72 hours. If you do not hear from us, please email suoutdoors@su.edu.
If you need to cancel anytime prior to 8 days before trip departure, you can request to receive a full refund. Cancellations requested from 1-7 days prior to trip departure result in the loss of participation fee, no refund will be given. If a student fails to provide notice of cancellation within 48 hours or is a "no show", a $25 penalty will be applied to the student to participate in any future SOAR trips. Cancellation requests can be submitted to suoutdoors@su.edu.
