Virtual Author Visit: Charles Santoso, the artist behind beloved titles by Katherine Applegate Wishtree, Wilodeen, Odder: The Novel, Odder: An Odder's Story, and other books inspired by true stories of animal friendships, including Ida, Always, Feathers Together, This Way Charlie, and Mighty Muddy Us, will be sharing his passion for bringing stories to life through his stunning illustrations. Charles will share his newest book written by Katherine Applegate, Odder: An Odder's Story, along with other illustrated favorites. Your students will learn about the "Easter eggs" and surprises hidden within Charles's illustrations, prompting them to revisit their favorite books with a fresh perspective. This presentation will spark conversations and encourage critical thinking. Your students will have a chance to ask questions and make a real connection to an illustrator. They will also be in awe that they are talking with Charles in Singapore at 2:00 am. This presentation will be an unforgettable experience for your students, leaving them inspired and eager to look again at books illustrated by Charles Santoso. (K-3rd Grade)
Happy Hour: After the students have left for the day, join other educators for a live virtual conversation with illustrator Charles Santoso. Learn the story behind the stories. Q & A time and door prizes will add to the joy! Corresponding Happy Hour with the speaker included with the purchase of the Author Visit.
All Author Visits will be recorded. Recordings will be provided to registrants after event.
