Participants can take up to THREE courses in a given term.

DATES: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
TIME:
11:00 AM - 11:50 AM
PROFESSOR:
Sarah Canfield

This course provides a bird's-eye view of the development of the English language literary canon, primarily in the British Isles, from the beginnings of written English to the time of the American Revolution. What do we include in the comparatively short list of works that we still read from earlier eras, and why? What relevance do the works of the long ago past have to our own time and experiences? Course readings will include poetry, prose, and dramatic works from circa 700 CE to 1785.

If any course is full, contact Scott King (sking4@su.edu) to be placed on a waiting list.
