Foundations of Art & Design

The Foundations of Art and Design course provides an opportunity for learners to engage with experiential applications in visual art and design, including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and public art. Learners will be introduced to various materials, techniques, concepts and processes of making art.  The learner’s knowledge base will cumulatively increase by means of the assignments which center each medium and skill introduced as a foundational element to be built upon.  Learners will build and strengthen their art and design vocabulary, while cultivating their capacity for visual thinking and creative problem solving.
